Terowie is 15 miles (24 km) to the South East of Peterborough. It was the change of gauge between narrow and broad gauges (from Adelaide). One of Terowie’s claims to fame is as the site of WWII US General McArthur making his famous statement, ‘I have come out of Bataan and I shall return.’
